History
|
| Bourgas started as a small Roman military colony called Deultum, later it became known as Develt. Its first inhabitants were the Thracians. It wasn’t until the 17th century that Bourgas received its present name. It was first named Ahelo-Burgas but then changed after the liberation to Burgas. At that time it was just a small town but over time it has grown into the centre of the southern Black sea coast. |
